What restaurants are recommended for a family of 6? for lunch and dinner? We have the meal plan. - We are visiting Magic Kingdom, Hollywood studios, and Animal Kingdom

    Kimberly,

Thanks for the question. I always love questions about where to eat!

So when I am here with more than just the four of my immediate family there are a few places that I think are better for large groups. For this I always look for a restaurant that has some variety of food options, and also one that is built to handle larger groups.

At the Magic Kingdom the easiest solution is the Crystal Palace. The buffet format makes it easy to keep everyone happy. But if you don't want a character meal, I would then send you to the Be Our Guest Restaurant. However if you are willing to leave the resort you could find an entertaining option by going to 'Ohana at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort which is just a monorail ride away.

When in Hollywood Studios there are a few choices. But my favorite would be to go to 50's Prime Time Cafe. Many of their tables are not necessarily ideal for 6 or more, but they have some spots that work, and the food selection and entertainment are too good to pass.

Animal Kingdom has the amazing Tusker House Restaurant. Even if you don't want a character meal, this is great food and a fun setting. My teens still pick this at their #1 dining destination anywhere at Walt Disney World. If you cannot stomach the character meal (see what I did there?), then the Yak & Yeti Restaurant is your next best bet.

And though you did not ask for Epcot, I will tell you that my all time favorite for a large group there is Biergarten. My kids love the entertainment, and the buffet variety extends beyond the German-inspired cuisine. So finicky eaters usually find something to make their tummies happy.

As for secondary options, the best counter service options for you would be to go to the Columbia Harbour House (at the Magic Kingdom), Sunshine Seasons (at Epcot), the collective counter stands on Sunset Boulevard (Hollywood Studios), and Flame Tree Barbecue (at the Animal Kingdom).

BOTTOM LINE: These all should be good options, but once you decide, in ALL cases (except the counter service recommendations) you will want to ensure you have an Advanced Dining Reservation to be sure to get in at the dining option of your choice.

    Have a Magical Vacation!
