What restaurants do you recommend for dinner with a 3 yr old. We have the DDP for 6 nights. She may be to young & scared to truly enjoy the character meals. We are staying at AKL and would like to visit resorts for dinner. What do you suggest?

    Leslie,

Great choice on your resort - we love the Animal Kingdom Lodge.  :)

You know your child best so only you could say if character meals would scare her.  I have three daughters (1, 3, & 5 years old) and they adore character meals!  We usually eat at a different one each day of our vacation, and they'd do more if they could.  You might consider trying at least one - they really are a great experience.  And a great way to get pictures and autographs with the characters and avoid long lines in the parks!

For non-character resort dining, a few of our favorites are the Whispering Canyon Cafe (Wilderness Lodge), 'Ohana (Polynesian), and the Cape May Cafe (Beach Club).  If your daughter is timid you should know that the Whispering Canyon Cafe is a very boisterous environment, so she may be teased/joked with by the waitstaff or asked to play games.  It is great fun if you want to play along, but if you eat there and that would be a problem, be sure to tell your waiter that your daughter is shy so they don't upset her.  'Ohana also has childrens games, but they are always optional.
