Which restaurants offer the best vegetarian options?

Hi, Linda! Ironically, my husband and I just had this conversation this afternoon, as he is tempted to tackle the theme parks on our upcoming trip from a vegetarian perspective.

My suggestion for some of the best options are to take a trip to Africa! No, not the real thing, but Disney's Animal Kingdom and Animal Kingdom Lodge.  Boma, located in the main part of the Lodge, is a buffet with a decidedly African flair.  You are likely to find options that include vegetarian soups, hummus, grain based entrees that feature couscous or quinoa, and vegetarian salads.  Also at Animal Kingdom Lodge, Sanaa, located in the Kidani Village part of the resort, offers vegetarian options for every course, from soup and appetizers all the way through to dessert.  Traditional Indian Naan bread service with vegetarian spreads, delicious soups, and an entree that combines several of the restaurants vegetarian favorites are all highlights of the menu.

At Animal Kingdom, Tusker House, which is a buffet, also has quite a few vegetarian offerings.  Soups, salads, and delicious grain based options grace the lunch and dinner buffet.  And Yak and Yeti, also at Animal Kingdom, has a delicious vegetarian lo mein, and can make other vegetarian options upon request.

At EPCOT, you'll find a few delicious options at Restaurant Marrakesh as well as at the Tangerine Cafe, a counter service location.  The Moroccan flavors combine perfectly with grain and vegetable based options.

You can find vegetarian options all over Walt Disney World, from veggie burgers to amazing entrees.  I also encourage you to talk to a member of the culinary staff wherever you eat.  They can put together something amazing with just a few minutes notice.

    Happy eating!
