Michelle,
Great question!
Disney does work to help with dietary request, and halal meals are no exception. Disney does not list what restaurants can and cannot provide halal meals, but they instead ask that you contact them with your request and your planned dining destinations so they can help coordinate what is possible.
If you visit their
Special Dietary Requests page you can review their different services. Specifically, to halal meal requests, they can help at select table service restaurants. They do ask for a 24-hour advance notice, and you can request this by calling
407.824.1391. You should also write to their e-mail address for support at other locations. That e-mail address is
Special.Diets@DisneyWorld.com.
PERSONAL TAKE #1I have a daughter with some severe food allergies. I know that this is not the same as requesting a halal meal, but I did want to share my experiences in working with their team. I have found that Disney does not simply try to comply with requests, but instead really embraces the opportunity to make your trip special. Also know that at any restaurant, table service or counter service, you can ask to talk to a chef for any clarification. I am confident that you will find them to be enthusiastic allies in making your dining experiences exceptional!
PERSONAL TAKE #2I don't pretend to be an expert on what does or does not qualify as halal. However, from my limited knowledge on the subject, I believe that the hummus fries at
Spice Road Table might qualify. They are my favorite new treat at Walt Disney World, and the lake side seating is gorgeous.
Have a Magical Vacation!
