Which restaraunt do you recommend at Animal Kingdom Lodge? Will have 6 people.....me and husband, 2 kids (3 and 1), and in laws. /looking for lunch or dinner after a day in Animal Kngdom.. Thanks!

    Hi Angela,

There are three restaurants at the Animal Kingdom Lodge and all of them are excellent. With young kids, you best bet might be Boma because it's a buffet and there's no waiting around for your food to be ready. If you like Indian food, then Sanaa at the AKL Kidani Village is a great choice, and as an added bonus there are often animals visible from the restaurant's windows. It's pretty darn cool to watch zebras while you're eating your lunch.

Jiko is one of my top five restaurants at WDW. Children are welcome here, but since it's a signature restaurant, the pace tends to be a bit slower and more relaxed. Some small children might lose patience with this gourmet experience.

You may also want to eat at the Animal Kingdom park. A great option for your family would be lunch at Tusker House in the Animal Kingdom. This is a character dining experience featuring Donald Duck, Goofy, and other classic Disney characters, so right off the bat you know the little ones are going to have a good time.

Like Boma, the buffet includes children's choices, classic American dishes, as well as several unique African dishes. Both Boma and Tusker House are high on my list of best Disney dining because my kids have plenty of tame "safe" options while I get to feast on something new. Tusker House serves breakfast and lunch with characters.

If you'd prefer a dinner option in the park, then I'd go with Yak & Yeti. This restaurant in the Asia section of the Animal Kingdom serves, not surprisingly, dishes inspired by several Asian countries. The green bean appetizer here is so yum! It's literally the only green vegetable my daughter as ever asked for seconds of.

    Happy eating!
