    Are the resorts seperate from the theme parks? They all say that they're located within a certain park, does that mean we are limited to dine in the resort of the theme park we are visiting, If we dont have the hopper option? We are doing the dining plan

    None of the resorts are actually inside the theme parks. You need not pay any admission fee or have any sort of ticket to dine at the resort hotels.

    I think what you may be seeing is that some of the resorts are closer to one theme park than another. For example, the Grand Floridian, Contemporary, Polynesian, Wilderness Lodge, and Fort Wilderness are quite close to the Magic Kingdom, so these are sometimes called the Magic Kingdom area resorts.

    None of this has any bearing on the Disney Dining Plan. If you are on the Dining Plan, you can eat in any of the restaurants on the very extensive lists of establishments participating in the dining plan. These restaurants are all over WDW: in all the theme parks, water parks, and in the resorts. To eat in the restaurants in the parks, you need to use an admission ticket to the park. But if you want to dine in one of the hotels, you can eat in any resort you want, not just the one you are staying at, and not just the ones nearest to the theme park you are visiting on any particular day.

    For example, if you are visiting the Magic Kingdom, you are more than welcome to dine later in the day at the Boardwalk or Beach Club, which are in the Epcot resorts area.  However, if you visited the Magic Kingdom in the morning and later wanted to dine in one of the restaurants actually located within the Epcot theme park, then you would need a Park Hopper ticket.
