Do any of the resorts offer a library of children's books to loan? We are staying at the Animal Kingdom Villas (not DVC) and Polynesian Village soon. It would be nice to lighten our luggage of books if we knew there are books to barrow for my 5-year-ol

    Hello Sony!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Books can definitely get heavy, and with baggage fees I can understand wanting to lighten the load.

I would recommend bringing a few select books with you for your child. First, it is nice to have something to read and enjoy on the plane. At Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge Kidani Village, there is a Community Hall that does offer books for children. The library is quite small, just a shelf or two of books for young children. While you can certainly read them while visiting Community Hall, I’m not sure if you can borrow them or not. Even if you can, they would need to be returned no later than the day you check-out. Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows does not currently offer a Community Hall, so there wouldn’t be an option for books at that resort.

The other option is to purchase some books on your trip as souvenirs. There are many Disney books for all ages sold throughout the resort. You’ll find books for sale at multiple locations, but I know you can certainly find them at The Emporium on Main Street, U.S.A., and several locations in Disney Springs. One of my favorite places to browse the book selection is at The Writer’s Stop, located near Star Tours at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. While you are there, be sure to try their famous Carrot Cake Cookie!
