Hi Barbara!
Welcome to planDisney! Everyone has a more magical visit to the
Walt Disney World Resort with a good night’s rest. I always find that I sleep well at Disney. I’m not sure if it is because the beds seem extra comfy, or if it is because we walk so many miles, but I always wake up feeling like Sleeping Beauty!
Almost all
Disney Resort Collection Hotels have moved away from double or full-size beds, and now have queen-size beds and sleeper sofas. In select rooms, you may find king-sized beds or single pull-down bunks. Even Disney’s Value Resorts have recently gone through a refurbishment and the beds and Murphy beds have been upgraded to queen-size!
Since almost all Disney resorts now offer queen-size beds in their rooms, I am going to tell you which rooms you won’t find them in! The elaborately themed pirate rooms at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort still have double beds, but the regular rooms at this resort offer queens. The Family Suites at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort feature a queen-size bed in the master bedroom, but the pull-down table bed is a double, as is the sleeper sofa. The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground feature a queen bed in the master bedroom, as well as bunk beds, but the sleeper sofa in the living room is a double.
To the best of my knowledge, those are the main resorts where you are likely to find that the main beds are not a queen. It is easy to double-check as you book. Visit a resort's “Room Rate Page.” For example here is
Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort Room Rate Page. Under each room type, you’ll find a short description that lists the sleeping arrangements.
I hope this information is helpful, Barbara. Wishing you magical dreams!
