Hi Heidi, and a happy early birthday to you! I was also at Disney World for my last milestone birthday, and it’s the most magical place to celebrate. So let’s chat about all the spooky happenings going on during your trip!
While the resort hotels at Disney World don’t typically decorate for Halloween like they do for Christmas, I do have a few suggestions for fun seasonal festivities outside of the theme parks.
First is to visit
Fort Wilderness, where many guests go all out with decorating their campsites in the weeks leading up to Halloween. You can take a
boat from Magic Kingdom to Fort Wilderness and walk around the campsite loops, or book a
Carriage Ride to explore the campground by horse! While you’re at Fort Wilderness, be sure to stop by
Tri-Circle-D Ranch to visit the horses you see on Main Street, U.S.A., including the headless horseman’s horse from the
Boo-To-You Halloween Parade! Access to Fort Wilderness is usually limited to overnights guests on the days around Halloween, but you should be good earlier in October.
My other suggestion is to head over to
Disney Springs, where you’ll find lots of
Halloween merchandise and treats in the shops, as well as seasonal entertainment, like skeleton stiltwalkers. My must-do for this year is
Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar, where you’ll find
fun Halloween decorations and a menu filled with themed food. Dishes like Zombie Eye Bites and Cursed Mummy Sausages are sure to get you in the holiday spirit!
I hope you have a BOO-tiful birthday at Disney World next month. And if you have any other questions, you’re always welcome at planDisney!
