Hi. Resort and tickets bought. Magic bands ordered. What should I do next? Was not very lucky with dining reservations. I don’t go to Disney often maybe once a year.

    Hiya Cristina,

Welcome to planDisney. I am so glad you stopped by with this question regarding your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort vacation. It won't be long now until you are on your way. Not only will you be able to enjoy the start of the holiday season (which is gorgeous), you will be able to enjoy the magic and festivities surrounding the 50th anniversary celebration. So much fun!

Selecting your dates, booking your Disney Resorts Collection hotel and purchasing your theme park admission tickets are the perfect way to start. If you have not already created a My Disney Experience account, you should do that right away. Don't forget to also download the free mobile app version. These fantastic mouseketools will not only help you keep all of your plans organized and easily accessible, you will use the account for your next planning step which is making your theme park reservations. You will need an admission ticket and a park reservation for each day you plan on visiting the theme parks. If you have added the Park Hopper Option to your theme park ticket, you do not need to worry about making a theme park reservation for any park you plan on hopping to. You simply need a theme park reservation for the first theme park you will be visiting each day.

Once you have made your theme park reservations, it is time to start your countdown! If there were advanced dining reservations that you had hoped to make and were unable, don't forget to check back often. As other Guests finalize or change their plans, it is not unusual for dining times to open up. I have had great luck snagging some last minute dining times in the days before our trip began. Keep an eye on your My Disney Experience mobile app for any openings and you can even use the app to check for wait list options on the same day. Lastly, start packing! Don't forget comfortable walking shoes and rain ponchos. Be sure to check the weather as the Florida temperatures often fluctuate later in the year. You may need a sweatshirt for those early morning starts.

I hope this helps you cross those last minute items off your planning list. If I can help with anything else, please stop back and see me.

    Wishing you a magical vacation,
    Margaret
