What resort would you recommend for a young family on a budget? Should we prioritize a resort with multiple transportation options? Thanks!

Hiya, Joe! Welcome back to planDisney. We're happy you're here!

I'm so excited to hear that you're making plans to visit Walt Disney World Resort with your young family! I love every part of the planning process, especially picking which resort to call "home" during my stay. I'd love to help you pick just the right place for your family to land!

Personally, I think you'll have the best experience by staying at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel, especially with little ones! You'll have access to many special resort benefits which will add magic to every moment. For example, you'll have access to complimentary resort transportation, which will make getting to the parks in the morning or heading back for an afternoon nap (or swim!) a breeze. You'll also be able to enjoy Early Theme Park Entry, which will allow you to enter the parks 30 minutes prior to the official park opening time. That means that from the time you wake up until the time you get your Sleeping Beauty rest at night, every moment will be filled with magic!

When my husband and I travel to Walt Disney World Resort, we often travel on a budget, too. Our favorite wallet-friendly place to stay is Disney's Pop Century Resort! This resort has updated rooms, larger-than-life icons, and two forms of transportation: bus transportation and the Disney Skyliner. The bus will be a comfortable ride to Magic Kingdom Park and Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park, and the Skyliner is just an aerial glide away from EPCOT and Disney's Hollywood Studios! Other resorts that your family may enjoy are Disney's Art of Animation Resort (which offers affordable Little Mermaid rooms as well as spacious Family Suites!) and Disney's All-Star Movies Resort

Joe, I also think you'll enjoy checking out the Little Ones Series where planDisney panelists share their best tips and personal advice on traveling with little Mouseketeers. You can find advice on Walt Disney World Resorts, Planning a Walt Disney World Vacation, Attractions, and Dining – all with little ones! And of course, please write back with any other questions you may have.

You've got a friend in me!
