Hi, Rhiza! Yes, all the Walt Disney World Resort pools are heated. As for Pool Hopping, the general answer is "no, you can't." There are a few exceptions. Pool Hopping is allowed between All-Star Resort pools. So, if you are a Guest at All-Star Movies Resort and wanted to swim at another All-Star Resort pool, you can. Guests in one section of the Port Orleans Resort (French Quarter or Riverside) can go to the pools over at the other. Disney Vacation Club Members have Pool Hopping privileges during non-peak seasons to all pools except Animal Kingdom Lodge's and the Yacht and Beach Club's. Finally, if the pool at your Resort is under repair, you will be give Pool Hopping privileges at another Resort. Otherwise, Guests must use the pools at the Resort where they are registered. The play areas at other Resorts are available free of charge.
In answer to your final question, let me let you in on one of my favorite planning tools that will help you with this question and so many more! Walt Disney World doesn't provide an official page with transportation routes and estimated travel times, but you should check out ourlaughingplace.com's Transportation Wizard. It is wonderful! In the upper-right hand corner of the home page, there are links to the Transportation Wizard, Resort Calculator, Guest Reviews, and Dining Guide. Choose the Transportation Wizard, then enter your starting and ending points. It will find different routes, if there is more than one, and estimate the time it will take to travel. I think you will like it! Happy planning and have a Magical vacation!
