I have resort & park reservations for next year, if I do online check-in now, can I still cancel if needed without penalties? Also, can I request a specific room #? We loved our last room & would absolutely love to get the same room # again!

Hi Angie! Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney!

How exciting that you're already looking forward to a visit to The Most Magical Place on Earth next year! I always feel like having a Disney trip on the horizon makes each day a little brighter. Since we all know anything can change between now and next June I definitely understand your concern about having to cancel if the need arises.  Hopefully, you'll be able to follow through with your magical vacation, but if not, no worries!

Walt Disney World Resort's cancellation policies vary depending on how many days prior to your vacation you cancel.  Since it sounds like you've booked a Walt Disney World vacation package you are able to cancel this vacation for a full refund (not including any fees from third-party vendors or any non-refundable options) as long as it is 30 days before your intended arrival date. Cancellations made between 2-29 days prior to arrival will be refunded all but their $200 cancellation fee (except for previously mentioned fees) and Guests needing to cancel immediately before their arrival will not be refunded for their stay.  Even if you plan to complete your Online Check-In on your My Disney Experience account your cancellation policy will remain the same.

Speaking of Online Check-In, you may be able to make your Room Requests during this process! When completing your Online Check-In you should see a "Show Details" and then a "Room Requests" section.  Here, you'll find a drop-down menu allowing you to choose some specific requests.  Since these change depending on which Disney Resorts Collection hotel you're planning to stay in you may wish to simply call and speak with a Cast Member at (407) 939-1936, especially because your request is so specific.  While we know Cast Members at the Disney Resort Hotel Reservations line try their best to fulfill Guest's requests they cannot be guaranteed.

After staying in many Disney Resorts over the years I have to say that I've never experienced a room that wasn't practically perfect in every way.  In fact, even if you don't get the exact room you're hoping for you may just find you have a new favorite!  Enjoy the rest of the planning process and come back and see us again if you need anything else along the way!

As a child I excitedly helped to plan family trips, as a young adult I planned our "happily ever after" right on Disney property, and now I'm lucky enough to plan magical vacations for my three incredible children. When we're not taking in the enchanting experiences of the parks, we're home in Massachusetts, probably planning our next trip! Learn More About Ashley
