Brittany,
Thanks for asking your question to planDisney!
Resort hopping is such a fun way to get two unique, exciting vacations at one time. You get to experience two themes, different resort amenities, and even different restaurants and stores.
Disney makes resort hopping so easy, with three easy steps. Use online check-in, express resort checkout, and bell services bag transfers to ease your resort changes!
To begin, make sure you are using the
Online Check-In feature of your
My Disney Experience account before arriving. This will help ensure your account is set up properly for charging, among other things. They will even text you your room number when it is ready! So, for both stays, you will complete separate check-ins. But no worries. It will only take a few minutes, and you can do it from home before you leave on vacation. You can even at that time make some requests related to your room type. Those can vary by resort but can include things like requesting a ground-floor room, a room near the lobby, and so on.
Checking in to your Disney resort is convenient, right? So is checking out!
Express Resort Checkout is also available, via the
My Disney Experience App. This speeds things along as well.
Finally, what do you do the day you are changing from one resort to another? Simple! Disney has this covered too. The Disney Resort Hotels will transfer your bags from one hotel to the other, while you enjoy another day in the parks! All you need to do is drop your bags off by 11 am at the Bell Services desk at
Disney's Pop Century Resort on the day you are moving. Let them know that you are moving to
Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter that day. You can go on your way to whatever adventure awaits, while the Disney Cast Members will get the bags moved over for you. All you need to do from there is pick up your bags later that day from the bell services desk in your new home in the magic after another amazing day!
BONUS TIP #1A lot of guests at Port Orleans don’t know that they can enjoy a boat ride to
Disney Springs from their resort. I love this leisurely way to sail off for some shopping or perhaps dinner. The ride is both scenic and relaxing, and the convenience of being dropped off amid this shopping, entertainment, and retail hub is fantastic. It is a definite perk, knowing you are just a quick cruise away from so much to see and do.
BONUS TIP #2For a morning treat, you might want to try the beignets at the
Scat Cat's Club - Café. Open from 7 am to 11 am, this venue normally serves as a bar at night, but during the morning hours sells coffee and powdered pockets of sweet goodness that are inspired by New Orleans.
