We are resort hopping during our stay this Nov. Sun-Wed at WL & Wed-Sat at Contemporary. We have 7 day Hopper tix & Dining Plan for our stay at WL. How can we extend the Dining Plan to our Contemporary stay using our existing park tix? Thx!

    Hi Laura,

What you're asking about is fairly complicated. If you go to the independent website blog.touringplans.com, there is an article called "Staying at Two Disney World Resorts in One Trip: Planning a Split Stay" which goes into some detail about this.

The short answer is that in order to purchase the Disney Dining Plan, you also need to purchase park tickets. Disney considers your two hotel stays to be completely different trips, so there is no carry over of your dining plan. To get the Dining Plan at the Contemporary, you'd have to also buy at least one day of tickets for this part of your stay. It is NOT economical to do this. So, you can either decide to skip the dining plan for the second half of your stay, or you can buy some tickets that you will use later.

The second option only works if you'll be returning to Walt Disney World in the future. If you'll be back, you can buy one day of tickets to get the Contemporary package, BUT NOT USE THE TICKETS. Unused tickets do not expire. So you can go ahead and use your 7-day Hoppers from the WL segment. And not use the one-day tix from the Contemporary segment. Then, when you return in the future, you can use the Contemporary tickets, adding on to them if necessary.

I know this is tricky. Please write back if you are confused and I'll be happy to go into even more detail.

Just let us know what you need.
