Hi Dee!
I am excited to see a fellow Tennessean and resort enthusiast. One of my favorite things about a Disney World vacation is staying at the resorts and trying all of the activities there. You can't go wrong with any of the resorts because they are all stacked with amenities but I have a few favorites that I will recommend.
Disney's
Beach Club Resort and
Yacht Club Resort share amenities and both have so much to offer. At both of these resorts, you have access to Stormalong Bay which is arguably one of the coolest pools at Disney World with a giant shipwreck slide and a beachside entry into the pool. At this pool, you can also rent a cabana for half of the day equipped with a TV, snacks, and drinks to make the most out of your pool day.
Fantasia Gardens and Fairways Miniature Golf is also at these resorts and is a ridiculously fun course to experience with the family. If you are into sports and want a good sweat on vacation you can play tennis, go on the jogging trails, or compete in a volleyball game. If you want something relaxing, you can rent a boat and go out on the lagoon to fish! It is also just a short walk over to
Disney's Boardwalk which features surrey bike rentals, entertainment, an arcade, and tons of restaurants.
If you are looking for something a little more quiet or outdoorsy for your resort experience, I recommend the
Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort. Tri-Circle-D Ranch is located at this resort which offers horse, pony, and wagon rides. You can rent canoes, kayaks, and bikes to explore the resort on water or land and you can even learn the art of archery! There is a playground, arcade, jogging trails, volleyball, and basketball courts for a little competition. Most importantly, you can end your evening singing around a campfire and watching movies under the stars.
There are so many resorts to explore at Disney World that there is truly something for everyone. Let me know if you have any other questions or need more help planning your Disney vacation.
Happy Planning
Jenna
