We are FL residents. My parents (who are GA residents) will be taking our kids (their grandchildren) to the parks for a week this summer, and we will not be going. Can I buy Florida resident tickets for my kids & how do they validate residency if so?

    Hey there Mandy!

Wow, this is a great question, and one that I have not seen before so I really had to do some digging.

Not to worry! I found an answer for you and learned a little bit about Florida resident discounts in the process. What I found is that you are able to purchase Florida resident discounted tickets for your children; however, you will need to be there with them to verify proof of residency to activate the passes before they are initially used. After the initial activation, you will not need to be with them each day.

So, if you are able to go with them on the very first day, then you will be able to get your children (but not their grandparents) Florida Resident tickets. If you are not able to go at all, then you will need to buy them standard tickets.

I hope that this gave you a little clarity, Mandy! Please come back here if we can help as you and your parents prepare for a week of relaxation and fun!
