John from FL Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

I am a FL resident, a sr citizen and an US Army veteran. I am eligible to stay at Shades of Green. But I think that I would prefer the convenience of a Disney hotel. What should I buy to make my trip affordable?

I hope you're doing well John, and it's my pleasure to welcome you to planDisney. Choosing a Disney Resort hotel is part of the fun of planning a vacation to The Most Magical Place on Earth, and I'm happy to hear you're exploring your options for your upcoming visit. I'd be happy to help you with your question, so let's take a look at what is available in early May.

The most affordable lodging choices at Disney World are typically the Value Resorts and The Campsites at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort. I ran a test search for your arrival date for a party of 2 and a party of 4 for five nights and found three available options: The Campsites, Disney's All-Star Movies Resort, and Disney's Art of Animation Resort. I recommend running a search of your own that is tailored to your travel party so you can get a better idea of pricing and availability. Resort hotel rooms are subject to availability and things may have changed since the time of my response.

I agree with your statement that Disney Resort hotels are the best choice when it comes to convenience! Guests of Disney Resort hotels are able to enjoy a wide variety of benefits, including Early Entry to the theme parks, complimentary transportation around the resort area, and the ability to book dining and Lightning Lanes ahead of time for the length of their stay.

You will also want to take a look at the Special Offers page to see what savings you qualify for, and I noticed that there are some offers for military service members. Don't forget to check the offers for Florida Residents as well. Your perfect Disney vacation is shaping up to be an affordable affair with the discounts that are available to you!

I hope this information has you feeling equipped to book your hotel, tickets, and other fun and festive offerings for your upcoming visit, John! If you are seeking additional advice or planning tips, be sure to visit us again here at planDisney.

    Stay magical,
    Scott
