How come the resident discount is only offered to Southern California residents? I live in Northern California and it would be nice if it was offered to all of California residents. Does all of Florida get the Walt Disney World resident discount?

Hey there Jinae, thanks for reaching out to us here at planDisney.

I can understand your inquiry as I've lived in both Northern and Southern California and have traveled to visit the Happiest Place on Earth when living hours away, it can get pricey. While I'm no Uncle Scrooge, anytime I can save money for more churros, count me in! I'll do my best to answer and share some tips, too!

Currently, Disneyland Resort only has a Southern California resident offering in the form of a special ticket - the So Cal Resident Ticket Offer is valid for visits now through June 2. Guests must be able to provide proof of residency with a valid government-issued photo ID, within zip codes 90000--93599. In the past, Southern California residents also had access to purchase a special level of the Magic Key pass, but at this time those sales have paused and are only available for eligible guests with active passes to renew. Did you know that all California residents can take advantage of purchasing a Magic Key pass and pay monthly for their pass? This is how our family was able to visit the parks while living in Northern California, we opted for monthly payments. Keep in mind that Magic Key pass sales do come and go and this is only an option when they are for sale to the public. Our friends over at Walt Disney World do have a Florida resident discount for tickets and passes, and their residency verification is different from Disneyland Resort. My understanding is that yes, all Florida State residents are eligible for the discount per the Walt Disney World website, "A Florida billing address is required when providing credit card information during checkout. In addition, all adults will need to show proof of Florida residency at park entrance."

I'm thrilled to see that you're planning to visit during Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort! You'll be able to experience the Main Street, U.S.A. Pumpkin Festival, hang out with favorite pals at both parks in their Halloween attire, and if you can, try to secure tickets to Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party, where you'll enjoy an evening of trick-or-treats and special nighttime entertainment! I love seeing all the fall decor up with the crisp autumn breeze. And with all the magic happening this year, you may also arrive in time to also experience the opening of Tiana's Bayou Adventure! While we have no set date announced, I feel like we're Almost There

I hope this insight helps, Jinae. Your visit will be here faster than Lightning McQueen can say Ka-Chow! I'm always here if you have any more questions before your arrival, please feel free to reach out again directly

    Adventure is out there!
