Hiya Virginia,
Welcome to planDisney! I always say that my parents rival Cinderella’s Fairy Godmother when it comes to my children. Before every vacation to Disney World, they shower my Mouseketeers with
Disney Gift Cards, magically themed outfits, and anything else they need for their vacation. It sounds like your children are also blessed with fairy grandparents as well!
It is fantastic that your children’s grandparents want to gift your children either
Pixie Dust or Pirate passes so they can enjoy a year of magical vacations. I’ve been in a similar situation, and unfortunately, it isn’t as easy as inputting their credit card online and processing a payment. In order to purchase a Florida resident annual pass or theme park tickets, the Guest paying must have a credit card whose billing address has a Florida address. Since your children’s grandparents are not Florida residents, the system would likely not allow them to process the payment and purchase the passes. I suggest having the grandparents purchase Disney Gift Cards for the value of the annual passes. You can combine up to $1,000 on one Gift Card, so I recommend having one gift card per annual pass. Then you can either call a Cast Member in
New Tickets to purchase the annual passes over the phone or do so in person at
Disney Springs (or any ticket counter at the Theme Parks) using the gift cards.
I hope this was helpful, Virginia. If I can make another suggestion, I recommend purchasing the annual passes in person at Disney Springs if you can. Your children can get their annual passes, and you can also take some time to enjoy lunch or dinner at one of the amazing dining locations there (
Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ is my favorite). Plus, you can get complimentary celebration buttons at Guest Services commemorating the occasion and send a picture of your children with the buttons to the grandparents. Please come back and see us if you need anything else.
Happy Planning!
