Can I get a reserverd seating to Fastasmic without having to do the dinner at one of the three chosen restaurants? Pay extra? If not, is it worth the wait in line especially with a 9 yr old?

The only way to get reserved seating at the Fantasmic show at Disney's Hollywood Studios is by booking one of the dinner packages. There is no "pay extra for a reserved seat" option. Also, you don't say when you're traveling, but the Fantasmic line is only crazy long when the parks are very crowded. The Fantasmic theater is HUGE. During less crowded times of the year, you can walk in 20 minutes in advance of the show and still have a decent seat.

My girls (ages 8 and 11) love Fantasmic. It's really fun for all ages. And the wait, if there is one, doesn't have to be odious. For example, on nights when there are two Fantasmic shows, the second show rarely fills up. Or you could have one member of your party hold your place in line while the others shop a bit (be sure to keep in close contact by cell phone if you do this). You could also eat a counter-service meal while waiting in line. We've done this several times.

I think you'll enjoy the show.
