How do you get reserved seating for the fireworks.

Hi there, Tammy! Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question!

One of the most magical experiences of a trip to Disneyland Resort is watching the fireworks at the end of the day. At the D23 Expo last month, it was announced that a brand new fireworks show will kick off in late January 2023. Wondrous Journeys will replace "Disneyland Forever," which is part of the Disney 100 Years of Wonder celebration at Disneyland Resort. I'm glad you'll be able to see it!

Prime viewing is key to enjoying these nighttime spectaculars, and sometimes you don't want to wait an hour or more to stake out a spot on Main Street, U.S.A. Most of the reserved seats you see are set aside for Disneyland Resort VIP Tours, which would be the best option if you are willing to splurge (pricing varies by season). For information, call (714) 300-7710; they start taking reservations a year in advance.

For a more affordable option, nothing provides a view like the Tomorrowland Skyline Terrace, held on the balcony over Star Wars Launch Bay. The experience includes a choice of an entree and side, a dessert selection, and unlimited soft drinks, bottled water, or hot chocolate. Once the lounge opens for the night, you can stay for the duration or come and go as you please between rides and attractions. You'll want to make reservations 60 days in advance through the Disneyland website. Something to keep in mind is that during off-peak times, such as February, fireworks are usually only on Friday-Sunday nights and not daily. Also, if there are high winds, the fireworks may be canceled, and there are no refunds in the event of bad weather (you can still go and enjoy the food in the lounge, though).

I'll also offer you a third option. One of the best "non-Main Street" places to view Disneyland fireworks is near "it's a small world." The projections are great if that's your priority, plus the crowds are typically lower (and you don't have to reserve it in advance)!

I hope your trip is a blast, Tammy! If you need anything else, you know where to find us!
