Welcome to planDisney, Billie Jo! Your arrival date is approaching, so let's look at the payment options you'll have on your upcoming
Walt Disney World Resort visit. Like Scrooge McDuck, we all like to keep a grip on those purse strings!
When you book dining online or on the My Disney Experience mobile app, you enter your credit card information to hold that reservation. It will only be charged if it's a pre-paid experience such as Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue. If you are a no-show for your reservation, the restaurant reserves the right to charge a cancelation fee, which is the only time that particular card would be charged. Be sure to review the
cancelation policy and plan accordingly.
You can pay using various methods once you enjoy your feast at the restaurant. Most restaurants and shops accept all major credit cards, cash, and
Disney Gift Cards. I checked with a millionaire Cast Member who confirmed that the Discover Card is accepted at many locations. You are welcome to pay your bill using the same card that held the reservation, but you will be asked to produce the card at checkout. But feel free to use any payment you like. Just don't "duck out" of the bill like our favorite Uncle Scrooge might!
If you're at
EPCOT during your visit, try my new favorite restaurant at the Japan Pavilion. If you're a sushi fan, you must try
Shiki-Sai: Sushi Izakaya. Ask for a table near the picture window for the best people-watching and view of the lagoon. The Wasabi Edamame is amazing!
Billie Jo, I hope I've answered your question about payment methods. Remember, if you're a guest at a Disney Resort Hotel, you can link the credit card of your choice to your reservation and use your
MagicBand+ to pay for merchandise and food throughout the theme parks. I like using every spare second for magic, not searching for my wallet! Please stop by
planDisney anytime.
Magic awaits,
Elaine
