Hi Jeff and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I love knowing that you are in the middle of planning your Walt Disney World Resort vacation!
Making your Disney Resort hotel reservation is a great first step, and it’s always how I start planning my family’s vacations. Dining reservations and theme park plans are always my second and third steps.
MagicBands are my favorite accessory when I visit the Walt Disney World Resort. They hold all the information we need to have a magical vacation. From theme park tickets, dining reservations, credit card information and all our all-important room key. You really shouldn’t leave your room without it!
I spoke with a Cast Member and was told, when making two separate room reservations, you will be asked to assign people in your party to each room. One person on your
My Disney Experience account would have to be assigned to the second room reservation and anyone else assigned to that second room would be able to open the door with their MagicBand. You would not be able to have access to the room that you are not assigned to using your MagicBand.
For example, if you have yourself, one other adult and two children under the age of 18 on your account who will be staying in the two rooms, you would have to assign the other adult to your second room reservation and you would keep your name on the first room reservation. That second adult and any of the children who are assigned to that room would have access to it with their bands.
Jeff, if you have any more questions you can always call (407) 939-5277 to speak with a Cast Member or you can visit us again here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
I hope this information was helpful to you. Have a magical visit!
Veronica
