Hey there, Natalie!
Welcome to planDisney! Congratulations on getting yourself a
Magic Key Pass! Unlike those unfortunate pirates from
Pirates of the Caribbean who will forever be reaching for that key from the "mangy mutt," you have a very special Magic Key which will allow you to enjoy the Magic of the Disneyland Resort many times throughout the year.
Like you, I am also a Magic Key Holder. I've had mine since the program's inception and I've really enjoyed all of its benefits and
discounts. As you've seen, Magic Key Holders also need a reservation to enter the Parks and we are subject to a limited supply of reservations as well. You are correct in that your reservation dictates your starting Park. So in your case, you may only enter Disney California Adventure before 11 a.m. on the day of your reservation. However, all Magic Key Passes have
Park Hopping benefits, so you may begin park hopping after 11 a.m. Therefore, you'll be able to head on over to Disneyland Park to continue the fun!
Reservations are released on a rolling basis 120 days in advance, so I would recommend making a reservation as soon as you know that you'll be visiting the Parks. Thankfully, Disney made a change where you no longer have to cancel a reservation in order to change the date. If you'd like to move a reservation, head over to
Ticket and Reservation Details and click on "Make or Modify Park Reservations." If you don't see the date that you'd like, be sure to keep checking back regularly because plans change for many guests and reservations often open up later.
Natalie, I hope that answers your question. If you haven't already, plan to have a meal at the
Magic Key Terrace in Disney California Adventure, where you'll enjoy hacienda-themed architecture overlooking the Park with a great view of the new
San Fransokyo Square! And if you have any more questions, send them our way again. You're always welcome at planDisney! Until next time!
Wishing You a Great, Big, Beautiful Tomorrow!
