Can we reserve the parks without buying a ticket or do we need to buy tickets to the park first?

    Welcome to planDisney, Cara!

Oh Cara, I am so happy to hear that you are planning a trip to Walt Disney World. My family just returned home a few weeks ago and we had the absolute time of our lives. I am planning our next family trip, but I haven't been able to make our Disney Park Pass system reservations yet because I still need to purchase our tickets, so you do need to have your tickets in hand to make those reservations.

You can purchase your tickets either by themselves or as part of a Walt Disney World Resort vacation package. I prefer to book a vacation package because it allows me to put down a deposit of as little as $200, and pay over time! You will want to note that payment terms and conditions are subject to change.

Cara, once you purchase your tickets, you will need to link them to each member of your party in your My Disney Experience Account. Once the tickets are linked, you can then go ahead and make your Disney Park Pass system reservations.

Reservations do sell out, so I recommend that you go ahead and purchase as far in advance as possible, you can always change your reservations at a later date, as long as the park has not reached capacity

I hope that this answered your question, Cara! Please come back here if we can help you figure out where to play, stay, or dine at Walt Disney World Resort.

    See you real soon!
