Hey howdy hey Lorraine, and welcome to planDisney! I just love Fort Wilderness. It’s such a relaxing oasis that’s just a short boat ride away from Magic Kingdom.
Driving a golf cart around the campground and exploring the different campsite loops is one of my favorite activities at
Fort Wilderness. Guests go out all decorating their campsites, and it’s so fun to see.
To book a golf cart for your stay, you can call the phone number listed under Reservations on the
Golf Cart Rental page on the Disney World website. Rentals are typically reserved for guests staying at Fort Wilderness and need to be booked by a guest 18 years of age or older with a valid driver's license.
My family loves to decorate our golf cart so it’s easier to find in the parking areas. And it’s also just a lot of fun! We use painter’s tape and string to hang battery-operated lights and other decorations without damaging the golf cart. I’ve also seen other guests tie lightweight decorations on the roof. Last time I was there, I saw a Kevin-themed pool tube decorating the top of a golf cart!
There are so many fun activities to do at Fort Wilderness, my family could spend the whole day (and night!) there without heading to the theme parks. Some of our favorite activities include dancing with the mischievous chipmunks at
Chip ’n’ Dale’s Campfire Sing-A-Long, stopping by
Tri-Circle-D Ranch (you might recognize some of the horses from the
Main Street Vehicles in Magic Kingdom!), and watching the
Electrical Water Pageant from the beach (check the
My Disney Experience app to see what time it’ll be in front of Fort Wilderness).
I hope you have a magical stay at Fort Wilderness later this month! And if you have any other questions, you’re always welcome back at planDisney.
