When and how do you reserve a cabana on the Disney Dream and Castaway Cay for six people? How much do they general cost? Is it worth it? Will be traveling with DH, DD6, DD2, DH's mom and her husband. Thanks!!!

Welcome back, Connie! The cabanas on Castaway Cay are absolutely lovely. They are very popular and due to the limited amount, they do book quickly. Once you choose your cruise date, be sure to decide whether or not you'd like a cabana and then book as soon as your reservation window opens up 90 days prior to your sailing, to ensure you get one.

You mentioned in your last question that Grandpa has some medical issues. If rest and relaxation in the privacy of his own spot in the shade are in order, a private cabana is just the place for your family. Inside you'll find tables, chairs and loungers, a fresh water shower, and a refrigerator stocked with snacks and drinks. Outside you'll have your own hammock and beach area with a gorgeous view!

There are a few home videos I've seen posted by DCL guests on YouTube of their private cabanas on Castaway Cay. You might want to look that up to see a video tour of them.

Prices are always subject to change, but currently the cost is $499 for a private cabana for up to six guests. Additional fees are required for more than six guests, but it sounds like you have six, so you should be all set.

Of course, you certainly don't need a cabana to enjoy the relaxing atmosphere at Castaway Cay. Plenty of chairs and umbrellas as well as hammocks line the beach for those looking to enjoy the island oasis.

And if Grandpa needs a wheelchair, Castaway Cay offers first-come, first-served complimentary sand/beach-type wheelchairs to help make travel around the island much easier for him.

I hope this gives you a better idea of what to expect with the private cabanas, Connie! Come back with any other questions! I love helping all guests, but especially first-time Disney cruisers like yourself!
