Welcome aboard the good ship planDisney, my friend! It looks like you're currently paddling around the
Walt Disney World Resort, so let's look at some options for sailing away during your visit. With so many lakes and lagoons on property, you have several options!
Specialty Fireworks Cruises can be booked up to 60 days in advance by calling (407) WDW-PLAY. These boats seat up to ten guests, and snacks and soft drinks are provided. Your friendly boat captain will steer you in style and regale you with trivia and history about the area as the sun sets. I recently took the cruise across Bay Lake to watch
Happily Ever After with some planDisney pals, and we had a blast. There wasn't a dry eye on our pontoon during the fireworks, so my top tip is to bring along tissues!
If you're an angler, booking a
Guided Fishing Excursion is another option. You can schedule a departure marina and time by calling (407) 939-FISH. You'll be fishing for largemouth bass on this catch-and-release excursion, and you can choose a two or four-hour cruise.
If you're interested in piloting your own vessel, you might check out
Motorized Boat Rentals. Reservations are not required, but you must be 18 to rent and drive these pontoons. Boats are rented on a first-come basis, so head to one of the listed marinas and get ready to set sail. Just so you know, hours and boat availability will vary by marina.
Please remember that parking at Disney Resort Hotels can be limited to hotel guests or those with dining and recreation reservations, so please plan your transportation accordingly. You'll show the confirmation to the parking attendant if you schedule a fireworks or fishing cruise. I suggest using complimentary
Resort Transportation to arrive at a designated marina for the Motorized Boat Rental since this can't be booked in advance.
I hope you have a magical voyage on the open seas! Please
stop by planDisney anytime. We'll never make you walk the plank!
Magic awaits,
Elaine
