Hi Bill!
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. You have picked two of the best restaurants on property; I sense a fellow foodie!
Tokyo Dining in the
Japan Pavilion of the World Showcase has fantastic food and one of the best views of Epcot’s Nighttime Spectaculars. I see that you are visiting at the end of September, so you might get to see
TWO different showcases!
IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth will be replaced by “
Epcot Forever,” a trip down memory lane with a look towards the magical possibilities of the future. The new show starts on October 1st, so if I were you, I would have
Epcot plans on the last day of September and the first day of October!
With a reservation at 7:30 PM you should just be finishing your meal as the
Fireworks start at 9:00 PM. You can request a table by the windows facing the water, but keep in mind that your view might be obstructed. There is a balcony that wraps around the restaurant, and guests often watch the show from there. If you want to leave the air conditioning, the terrace is a fantastic viewing spot!
Now let’s talk about
Jiko: The Cooking Place, which is hands down one of my favorite restaurants anywhere, let alone Walt Disney World! Starting June 30th, the restaurant is offering a
limited-time prix fix menu that is inspired by “
The Lion King,” which is celebrating it’s
25th anniversary this year! The three-course progressive menu follows
Simba’s journey through life. The main course has an option of a Bone-In Ribeye with hibiscus and fregula. I had a version of this dish on the
regular menu, and it was divine! During your special meal, wildly talented musicians will entertain you with African melodies as well as live performances of the
movie soundtrack.
Bill, if you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to come back. I have a feeling that once you experience both of your dinners, “Hakuna Matata” will be your new motto!
