Hi Angelica! Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney.
Sometimes life gets in the way, but luckily, you have a lot of flexibility with Disneyland Resort theme park reservations. And expiration dates on admission tickets are very generous. You probably don't need to worry about it expiring in the near future. Locate the expiration date by pulling up the purchase confirmation e-mail. You'll see a link to "Access Your eTickets," which you'll want to click to view your tickets. Click on the ticket to see its expiration in the fine print at the bottom. You can also call a friendly Cast Member for assistance if you can't find the e-mail. The
Tickets phone line should be able to pull up the expiration date for you.
Even if the admission ticket expires before your family member gets to use it, a standard valid admission ticket usually retains its value, which you can apply toward the purchase of a new ticket. You just have to pay the difference, because, of course, prices and terms do change. Credit, debit, and Disney Gift Cards are all accepted as convenient methods of payment. I hope that is good news!
I can walk you through
modifying the reservation, which you can take care of immediately if you know when your family member will be visiting instead. Navigate to the Disneyland Resort website and look for the "My Disneyland" dropdown menu. However over that menu and select "Theme Park Reservations." Scroll down the next page and click "Make or Modify Park Reservations," which will take you to a list of all confirmed reservations under your MyDisney account. Select "Modify Reservation" and select the member of your party who needs to modify to select a new park date and park.
If you don't know when your family member will be able to visit in the future, don't worry about canceling or modifying the reservation at this time. As long as the reservation isn't associated with a Magic Key, there's currently no penalty associated with not showing up for a theme park reservation. The ticket associated with that Guest will remain unused and valid until its expiration, ready for a new theme park reservation to be made.
I hope this helps!
Elizabeth
