We have reservations for Thanksgiving week 2009, but after reading other panel discussions I am considering changing the reservation to the day after Thanksgiving through the following week to see all the holiday festivities. How are the crowds?

The Friday/Saturday/Sunday after Thanksgiving will be extremely crowded, with lots of people (including me) taking advantage of the long weekend with the kids out of school. But then after that, you will encounter blissfully low crowd levels. The first week of December is a historically low-crowd time of year, the weather is usually moderate, and as you suggested, you have the added bonus of seeing all the wonderful holiday decorations and special events.

Good luck with your decision. And be sure to stop and say "hi" if you see me in the parks over Thanksgiving weekend. :-)
