Hi Andrea! Welcome to planDisney. I’m thrilled to help you get ready for
Oogie Boogie Bash. It’s hands-down one of my favorite events of the entire year, and I know you’re going to have a frightfully fun evening!
First off, congratulations on snagging a reservation at Storytellers Café. Starting your evening with a hearty meal is a great way to fuel up before a night full of candy, character encounters, and entertainment. To answer your main question: yes, you can absolutely use the Disney California Adventure entrance located at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel to access the party. Many Guests love the convenience of stepping right from the hotel into the park, but I do like to share a friendly tip: this entrance has fewer turnstiles than the main gate. During high-demand times, such as right at 3:00 PM when Oogie Boogie Bash ticket holders may begin entering, the line can back up. If you arrive and see a long queue, it may actually be faster to pivot and head to the main entrance instead.
Once inside, the real fun begins. One of my favorite strategies is to skip the first showing of the
Frightfully Fun Parade and instead head straight to
Villains Grove. The Redwood Creek Challenge Trail transforms into a dreamlike landscape of light, fog, and music that brings Disney’s most infamous villains to life in hauntingly beautiful ways. It’s an experience unique to the Bash and feels both spooky and enchanting.
When you’re ready for the parade, the second performance typically has lighter crowds. Great viewing spots include the area near The Little Mermaid – Ariel’s Undersea Adventure, where the parade first steps off, or across from Carthay Circle Theater, where the elegant backdrop makes for magical photos.
Of course, no Oogie Boogie Bash is complete without making the rounds on the Treat Trails. Not only are they generous with candy, but many feature rare characters in Halloween regalia. Ernesto de la Cruz serenading guests is always a highlight, and this year new villains like Syndrome and Maleficent are making appearances, which promises even more surprises.
Andrea, I hope this gives you a clear plan for kicking off your spooky soirée. If more questions bubble up before your visit, don’t hesitate to stop by planDisney. We’re always here to help.
Wishing you a boo-tiful evening filled with treats, tricks, and plenty of Disney magic!
