    We have reservations on Sat dec 12- Thur Dec 17, 2009. At first we were told that is a slow time of the year- before the children get out of school and the holiday crowds pick up. But now, I am getting a little worried it will be busy- any thoughts

    No, you really are going at a great time of year! The crowds are about as ideally low as you could ask, and of course you get the wonderful holiday decor to boot!

    Of the days you are there, that Saturday that you arrive (the 12th) will be the busiest, so don't let that fool you into thinking you have been misled. it is a weekend, so the crowds grow from local visitors. But the rest of the week, even that Sunday, are going to be great.

    I don't know how else to convince you, except to say that pretty much every travel guide I have ever read (and sadly, I read them all!), agree with this assessment.

    So let yourself relax a bit, and enjoy what is about to come around the corner!
