We have reservations @ POFQ already but r considering changing 2 the POR royal guest room. Can u tell me the real differences between the rooms besides the headboard lighting up?Is it worth changing r reservations? It's r 5yr old daughters 1st trip 2 wdw.

    Hi Jennifer!
Vacations at Walt Disney World don't just begin in the theme parks, they begin at your resort! All Disney resort hotels are themed beautifully, with one of my favorites being Disney's Port Orleans--Riverside. Complete with southern style mansions, beautiful landscaping and an awesome pool, you are guaranteed a wonderful time!
With their newly added Royal Rooms, POR is going to be THE destination for all Princesses-to-be. Although no bigger than the rooms at POFQ, POR rooms are now outfitted with Queen sized beds, for more sleeping space, and clearly the theming is different. POFQ harkening to the New Orleans/Louisiana feel, while POR is more general Southern/Bayou feel to it.
While they Royal Rooms have headboard with special LED effects, there is much more to them. The detail in creating these rooms is amazing, with many touches and nods to all the princesses, from Genie's lamp as the faucet, to Belle's footstool, are included in the room. The duvet has images of all the princesses and their respective crowns, and the table has an inlaid note, proclaiming the princess in the room. It's very visually creative, and any little girl who has her heart set on becoming a princess will definitely love a nights stay here.
Hope this helps you plan your magical vacation!
