A big howdy hey David and welcome back to planDisney!
I am so excited you will be visiting
Walt Disney World Resort in time to take part in the 50th anniversary festivities. It truly is
The World's Most Magical Celebration and I know you will make the most amazing family memories.
Great news - Guests with a
theme park reservation are guaranteed entry into that theme park no matter what time they arrive. If you are early birds that like to arrive for rope drop and then take an afternoon break back at your
Disney Resort, there are a few things to keep in mind. While rare (and usually only occurring during certain holidays or special events) a theme park does occasionally reach capacity. When that happens, entry would be limited or in some cases temporarily suspended. Therefore, there is no guarantee you will be able to re-enter if you leave during the day. Hakuna Matata -no worries though - I have chatted with a number of Cast Members who have explained that Guests who had previously entered the theme park that day and also have an
advance dining reservation, are generally the last ones turned away from re-entry if the theme park reaches capacity.
Guests who are staying at a Disney Resort as well as those with a multiple day theme park ticket will also have priority over Guests staying offsite or those with single day admission tickets. All of these factors, coupled with the time of the year you will be visiting, makes me think you should have no trouble leaving for a few hours and returning for dinner. If you have any reason to think the theme park may be limiting re-entry, I would stop at Guest Relations before exiting and speak with a Cast Member just to confirm you will be able to return later that day.
Wishing you the most magical trip. If I can help with any further planning questions, please stop back and
see me.
With pixie dust,
Margaret
