Hi Wayne! Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney.
Dining reservations typically operate on a 60-day window, but they can open earlier or later. The best advice is to start checking around that 60-day mark, and if there is no availability on your preferred date or at your preferred time for the size of your party, keep checking! People's plans change and when they do, you can swoop in and snag that reservation you've been wishing for. In fact, I'd recommend you keep checking until the day before as there can be cancelations at the last minute too. Don't give up.
Disney Princess Breakfast Adventures at Napa Rose in Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa is a really magical choice for a Character Dining experience. My family is hoping to dine there this spring! You do have some other options, however, which I can recommend if you want to secure a Character Dining meal or a princess experience for your family.
Mickey's Tales of Adventure Breakfast Buffet is also in Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. You'll find it at Storytellers Cafe, where you can dine on tasty selections from the buffet while meeting with Mickey and his friends. Goofy and his friends will greet you at
Goofy's Kitchen at the nearby Disneyland Hotel. This is an iconic Character Dining buffet with both breakfast and dinner options for booking, subject to availability. You'll find the atmosphere to be lively and there are options tailored to all ages on the buffet. Finally,
Minnie & Friends – Breakfast in the Park is your Character Dining choice in the parks! Disneyland Park's Plaza Inn on Main Street, U.S.A. is beautifully themed and steeped in history with breathtaking views of Sleeping Beauty Castle. You can't go wrong with any of these choices.
But if it is princess magic your family is after, I'd also recommend an appointment at
Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique in Fantasyland at Disneyland Park, where your little ones can receive the royal treatment and transform into a knight or a princess with the help of the wave of a Fairy Godmother’s Apprentice's wand and some pampering too. This also requires a reservation and can fill up fast since it's a very popular experience! Elsewhere in Fantasyland, you can also meet up to three princesses at a time at
Royal Hall in Fantasy Faire. At this meet and greet, you can pose for pictures, get autographs, and get those magical princess hugs if you like. No reservation is required! You can always check the
Disneyland mobile app while you're in the park for updated times on when the princesses are holding court. To find Characters in the park, bring up the map on the app and change from Attractions at the top middle of the screen to Characters.
I know you're going to have the best time. As you're planning all the details of your upcoming visit, be sure to check out the
Disney Park Blog, which is the official source for all things related to the parks from food, merchandise, entertainment, and more. You'll be visiting at the most festive time of the year, and you'll be ready with your must-do and must-eat list before you ever enter the parks!
Have a magical time.
