Are reservations needed? We are going in July (yes hot and busy) but the only time my husband can get vacation. If we only book a couple any reccomendations for 2 girls aged 9 and 5?

Hi Sherry! My vacations are always more relaxing when I make dining reservations in advance. You're right that Walt Disney World can be quite busy in July, so if your family enjoys having a nice sit-down meal, you'll want to make those plans in advance. You don't want to find yourself hot, tired, hungry and unable to get a table at a restaurant where your family can rest and cool off. That's happened to my family, and I don't want it to happen to yours.

I recommend you book at least one character meal. Kids love them, and you won't have to waste time in the parks standing in line to see the characters if you dine with them. If your girls like princesses, consider Cinderella's Royal Table or Akershus. If they're fans of Mickey and Minnie, book Chef Mickey's. The food is great at Crystal Palace, and the Pooh characters visit your table there.

The Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue is an entertaining western comedy show with hearty food. It's fun for adults and kids alike! My kids love dining at the Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater at Hollywood Studios -- you sit in cars and watch campy old drive-in movies while the servers whiz by on roller skates with meals of burgers and shakes.

Come visit us again at the Moms Panel if you have more questions! We're always happy to help!
