if the reservations are all gone for Disneyland online does that count for same day ticket purchase at the ticket booth??

Hey there, hi there, ho there, Natalie!

It’s an honor to welcome you here to planDisney! I’m so glad you stopped by with your question before your upcoming visit to The Happiest Place On Earth next week. It sounds like you’re planning to be here just before the Lunar New Year festivities begin. Oh boy!  I truly look forward to this festival every year. From savoring the delicious treats at the food stations to watching Mulan's Lunar New Year Procession and even tying a New Year's wish on the Wishes Wall in Paradise Gardens (fun fact: With good fortune and a great hairdo, most of my wishes have actually come true!).

Natalie, you can purchase tickets at the Main Entrance Ticket Booth in the Esplanade between the two park entrances. Even though it is possible to buy the tickets in person, I highly recommend that you purchase your tickets ahead of time so that you can make sure to secure a theme park reservation for the day that you’d like to visit. In order to enter the parks, you need both a ticket and a theme park ticket reservation.

I hate to give you bad news, but I just attempted to make a reservation for Thursday, January 18th, and at the time that I am writing this, there is no availability. If the online calendar isn't showing any availability, purchasing admission tickets in-person won't change that – the reservation scene remains the same. Fingers crossed that some ‘Magic Happens’ for you because spots can open up as other guests' plans shift around. I recommend that you behave like our friend Dory and just keep swimming back to the reservations page frequently to see if any reservations are open.

I hope you are able to get your tickets and reservations purchased so that you can experience all the magic at The Happiest Place on Earth soon, Natalie! Thank you again for bringing this question to me. I know it wasn’t the answer you were hoping for, but helping Mousketeers like you plan smooth visits to The Happiest Place On Earth lights me up brighter than a nighttime spectacular (if that's even possible!). I can't wait to hear more about any other adventures you're cooking up. Remember, now you've got a friend in me— so reach out again anytime. I'd love to share my favorite tips for visiting the Disneyland Resort!

    See ya real soon!
