Do I HAVE to make reservations with the Deluxe Dining plan or can I just "wing" it so to speak? Will Table service restaurants take walk ins? and how hard are they to do?

    Dear Ashley,

Thanks for reaching out to us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your Disney Deluxe Dining Plan question!

The Deluxe Dining Plan is a terrific choice for those of us who like to pre-pay and not have to worry about planning out each meal and budget while we are on vacation. It's great that you chose it. It is definitely possible to get last-minute reservations and walk-ins at a few places around the Walt Disney World Resort, but since you are asking our advice, I would definitely recommend making reservations ahead of time for at least some of your meals for a couple of reasons.

First, many of the most popular Table-Service restaurants do fill up with Advanced Dining Reservations and you and your family may be bummed to arrive at the destination that you considered only to find that it is full and not taking walk-ins. Second, you may find that setting up perhaps one reservation per day helps you to structure your day and your plans. Also, I find that my family can get quite run down while we are having so much fun at the Parks, and it's wonderful to have a cool, calm place to guarantee that we will get to for a nice meal.

Also, for any dinner shows and/or character meals, reservations are more or less required because they are so popular.

Have a magical time on your vacation!
