We have reservations at Chef Mickeys on Nov 4 and I'm wondering if we go to Magic kingdom that day can we ride the monorail there? If so how long would you give yourself to get there and is this the best transportation option?

    Hi Hannah,

You are going to LOVE Chef Mickey's! Enjoying delicious food, participating in some napkin swinging fun, and interacting with Mickey Mouse and his pals all while the iconic monorail zooms by overhead? Yes, please!

It will be super easy for you to make it to Disney's Contemporary Resort from Magic Kingdom Park. In fact, you can even walk there! I'd estimate it to be about a 10 - 15 minute walk, or yes, you can definitely take the monorail. You'll want to make sure you hop on the Resort Monorail, not the Express one, and Disney's Contemporary Resort will be your first stop. While the ride itself will only take a few minutes, you may have a short wait for the monorail. Don't forget to factor in time to walk down Main Street U.S.A. and out of the park, too. I don't like to feel rushed or be worried I'm going to be late, so I'd probably suggest heading that way about 45 minutes before your reservation time. If you happen to be a little early to your meal, there's an incredible Mary Blair mural right outside the restaurant as well as some shops to peruse. Of course, the view of Bay Lake right behind the Resort hotel is quite beautiful, too.

I'm so glad you stopped by the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Hannah, and hope you'll come see us again if you have any other questions as you're planning your trip. I hope that you have a truly magical...and delicious...vacation!
