Hi there, Jewell!
Chef Mickey's is a must for us each time we visit the Walt Disney World Resort. Because it is in such close proximity to the Magic Kingdom it is the perfect spot to kick off your magical Magic Kingdom day!
Jewell, you will have two options for parking. If you are pressed for time getting to your reservation, you can simply park at
Disney's Contemporary Resort for breakfast. Since you can't park there for the entire day, you would then drive to the nearby Ticket and Transportation Center, where you would park while you play the day away.
If you want to get into the Magic Kingdom a little more quickly after breakfast, I would recommend that you park at the Ticket and Transportation center before your breakfast reservation. Once you are parked, you can hop on the
Monorail to Disney's Contemporary Resort.
While officially the Monorail isn't guaranteed to run until 30 minutes before park opening, in practice, the Magic Kingdom Monorail generally opens around 7:00 am to accommodate guests with early breakfast reservations. The exact monorail hours will be published in the Times Guide, available in each park and Guest Services location. Be sure to check the Times Guide once you arrive to make sure that the Monorail will be operational in time for your reservation.
On the return route, I would recommend that you take the small walking path from the Contemporary to the Magic Kingdom. This will often be a little faster than the Monorail and is only a 10-minute walk.
I hope that this helped, Jewell. Please come back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel if we can help as you plan your magical getaway.
