    I have reservations for 2 character dining experiences but am looking for 2 more dinners that won't break the bank but be fun for an 8 year old and 5 year old. Staying at Art of Animation but willing to go to epcot or downtown disney.

    Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your dining question! Character Dining is such a great way to meet the Disney Characters while enjoying a delicious meal.  As a mom of four children, I completely understand your desire to choose dining locations that will be fun, but affordable at the same time. 

    At the Downtown Disney area, both T-REX and Rainforest Cafe offer fun, themed dining and feature life-sized animatronic animals. At Epcot, consider dining at Teppan Edo, where chefs cook delicious dishes directly in front of you. Teppan Edo is located in the Japan Pavilion and is a unique dining location that kids of all ages will enjoy. Whispering Canyon Cafe is located at Disney's Wilderness Lodge and features a Western-style setting with a rowdy, yet fun atmosphere. My boys love the Lincoln log table, hobby horse races and fun antics by the wait staff at this entertaining dining location. The restaurants that I have referenced are not Character Dining Experiences, but they do serve hearty dishes at reasonable prices and offer fun theming for the entire family.
