    Hi! We have reservations at Caribbean Beach for Feb.2-11. We want to switch to Art of Animation but it looks like nearly every resort is unavailable. Is something going on that is making everything so busy? Why can't we switch resorts? Thanks!

    Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Your Walt Disney World Resort vacation is quickly approaching and I love both the resort hotels that you are currently considering!

    During your vacation window in February, there are two events happening at ESPN Wide World of Sports, the National Dance Team Championship (UDA) and  National High School Cheerleading Championship (UCA). Years ago I participated in the UCA competition myself and from my experience you won't see an impact on crowds from these two events in the parks, but they do historically tend to book at value resort hotels, which may be why you are seeing limited availability at Disney's Art of Animation Resort.

    The dates of these two competitions are February 1st through 3rd and 8th through 10th, but often participants will add on a few extra days. I would recommend looking into maybe doing a split stay vacation! This would give you the opportunity to experience both resorts and searching for a smaller length of time may open up some availability. If you do a split stay vacation, your bags can even be moved from one resort to another, with no hassle on your part! You can always give one of our friendly Cast Members a call at (407) 939-5277. They can assist in looking at a variety of dates to see if there is any availability for a shorter window.
