Hi again Alicia! I think you've timed your
California Grill reservation perfectly for viewing the Wishes fireworks! The restaurant dims the lights and pipes in the Wishes soundtrack, so you can enjoy the show from your table or you can step outside and watch from the observation deck during your meal.
The California Grill is an upscale dining experience with delicious gourmet food. On my last trip to Walt Disney World, I ate at many restaurants, but my meal at the California Grill was undoubtedly the best of the trip and my travel companions felt the same. It is expensive, but the delicious food combined with the ambiance of viewing the fireworks while you eat makes it worth it, in my opinion. Some of my favorite dishes at the California Grill are not the main courses, but the less expensive appetizers, such as the Sonoma Goat Cheese Ravioli, the wood-fired pizzas, and the sushi. If you'd like to dine at the California Grill but are deterred by the cost, consider ordering an appetizer and salad instead of a main course.
One of the reasons I return to Disney year after year is that even the fanciest restaurants have children's menus. You can check out a sample kids menu for the California Grill at
www.allears.net. The California Grill is refreshing in the respect that its children's menu contains foods different from most other Disney restaurants, but it still offers pizza and macaroni and cheese for the pickier eaters.
Hope this helps! Have a wonderful time!
