We have reservations at the California grill about 2 hrs before the fireworks. I know yu can request tables by the windows. Is that what I need to do to get the best view? If not, then what should I ask for seating arrangments to get the best view?

You can request a table by the window (when you get to the restaurant, not in advance), but there is no guarantee that you will get this -- there simply aren't enough window tables for everyone dining at the California Grill to have one. Additionally, only certain party sizes can be seated by the window. I had 2008 Thanksgiving dinner at the California Grill with my family. We are a party of five and were told then by the hostess that it is rare for a group of our size to have window access.

We ended up being seated at the row of tables one away from the tables at the window. I had a perfectly fine view of the Wishes fireworks, even though I was about fifteen feet away from the window. The windows are HUGE and restaurant is not very deep, so that nearly every table has good sightlines. However, if for some reason you felt like you could not see well from where you were seated, you would be welcome to get up and move around for the show. Several people at other tables got up and stood or sat more near the window or moved out to watch from the observation deck area. After a two hour dinner, you might welcome the chance to stand up and move a bit. The show itself is about 15 minutes long.
