I have reservations for the Cabines at Fort Wilderness for Sepetember 10th. What is the chance we stay at the new cabines? Should I try to ask for that? Thanks!

Howdy, Partner! Claudine, I am so glad to meet you at planDisney and thrilled to hear you are going to be staying at The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort. There is something especially magical about being in the quiet woods, knowing Cinderella Castle is just across the horizon.

With your trip so close, there is also something else on the horizon: the opening date of the new cabins. These 1 Bedroom Cabins are part of the Disney Vacation Club and will welcome Guests starting September 27, 2024. I know—it feels like there's a snake in my boot!

Here's my favorite recommendation: book another trip! When you head back to Fort Wilderness, you can reserve these updated cabins specifically while the campground is being refurbished. The updated cabins are listed as "1 Bedroom Cabins," and the original cabins are "Wilderness Cabins." If you book a 1 Bedroom Cabin, you will be in one of the new ones.

While the new cabins are not ready for you yet, you will get to enjoy the Wilderness Cabins before they are gone forever for Guests. I know it is not the news you were hoping for, but I sincerely think there is something nostalgic about getting to stay here one last time.

Your Wilderness Cabin retreat includes a separate bedroom, which means Andy's toys can still play after he has gone to sleep. There is also a kitchen, giving you some of the comforts and convenience of home. With the patio, you can savor some snacks or enjoy a meal in the beauty of the outdoors, literally at your doorstep.

With all of these charms, it gets even better with all of the recreation offered. Meadow Swimmin' Pool has a 67-foot-long corkscrew waterslide for a bit of a thrill before splashing into the water for a bit of a chill. Horses, jogging trails, canoes, kayaks, fishing... You can relax, make a splash, and go on an adventure all in the same day! I know you can find a campfire at many Disney Resorts Collection hotels, but do they have Chip 'n' Dale? These mischievous critters with the Chip ‘n’ Dale’s Campfire Sing-A-Long are so special. It really is the magic of Disney to infinity and beyond! No matter what cabin you have, you are set for a vacation sprinkled with Pixie Dust and magic!

If you have any other questions, Claudine, you know you have a friend in me.

    Reach for the Sky!
