Hi Lorena! Thanks for visiting planDisney.
Blue Bayou Restaurant in New Orleans Square at Disneyland Park is an iconic and immersive dining experience. We love the cajun-creole-inspired cuisine, and it's so much fun to dine in perpetual twilight while the boats drift by. However, it's an incredibly popular spot, which makes getting a dining reservation, especially a last-minute dining reservation, tricky. Dining reservations typically open 60 days out and Blue Bayou Restaurant often fills up as soon as those spots become available to reserve.
However, people's plans change, and when they cancel their reservations, availability will change to reflect that. So, I suggest you keep checking. All dining reservations are made
online. You can also check for alternative locations to celebrate the big day, while you're checking on Blue Bayou Restaurant. It's my son's tenth birthday this week too, and I know he'd be happy to be celebrating anywhere in Disneyland Resort, but he especially enjoys dining off-planet in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge or by the water at Lamplight Lounge on Pixar Pier in Disney California Adventure Park. Plaza Inn on Main Street, U.S.A. also has a great view of Sleeping Beauty Castle and tasty favorites that might appeal to a double digits birthday boy!
While you might not want to leave birthday plans to chance, you can also attempt to
join the walk-up list for Blue Bayou Restaurant on the day of your visit after you've entered the parks. To do this, pull up the Disneyland mobile app. On the app's map, switch the select at the top from "Attraction" to "Dining" and locate the icon over Blue Bayou Restaurant. Tap and select "Blue Bayou Restaurant." Choose "Join Walk-Up List" if it's available. There's no guarantee, but I'll be sending good birthday wishes that his dream comes true!
I hope this helps.
Elizabeth
