Hiya Stephanie,
Welcome back to planDisney! I’m so excited you’re planning a visit to the Disneyland Resort! I remember my first visit to the Happiest Place on Earth, and am happy to share some of my favorite things to do on visits!
First off, I love eating breakfast at
Carnation Cafe on Main Street, U.S.A. There is both magic and history in this dining location, as Walt Disney himself used to dine there! This Victorian-styled restaurant is decorated with historic photos of Disneyland Park and the staff are dressed in recently redesigned vintage clothing. There’s nothing better than taking in the sights and sounds of Main Street, U.S.A. in the morning while dining on a Mickey-shaped Waffle.
You cannot go to Disneyland Resort without taking photos!
DisneyPhotopass Service is a great way to get professional shots of you and your loved ones. Disney PhotoPass Service is included in
Lightning Lane Multi Pass, so I recommend purchasing Lightning Lane Multi Pass to avoid the standby wait times and enjoy unlimited downloads of Disney PhotoPass digital photos from your visit!
Character meets are one of the best experiences in the Parks! If you have downloaded the Disneyland Mobile App, you can view which characters are in the park on that day right from the palm of your hand (characters are subject to change)! In the app, click on the map, and at the top where it says “Attractions'', click the down arrow. Find “Characters” and you should be able to see character locations! You can’t miss meeting the Mouse that started it all!
Did you know that you can meet characters during
Character Dining? Select dining locations offer breakfast and dinner reservations where characters come out to dance and do individual meet and greets at each table! This is a great way to avoid the lines at the Parks while enjoying a delicious meal. Some of my favorites include
Goofy's Kitchen and
Mickey's Tales of Adventure Breakfast Buffet. Goofy’s Kitchen and Mickey’s Tales of Adventure Breakfast also have a limited-time Halloween-inspired menu, so take a look and book a reservation (up to 60 days before your visit date)!
Finally, I recommend viewing the
Hours & Events Calendar for performances and nighttime spectaculars in the Parks! There are parades during the day and nighttime shows such as
Halloween Screams that you can’t miss. Take a look at which performances will be available during your visit and include them in your park plans!
Tip from Tiffany: Did you know that Guests with the app can use the complimentary
Disney Genie Service? This service allows Guests to input their can’t-miss experiences, such as character meets, showtimes, and more into the app. On your visit date, watch the magic of Disney Genie as it generates your perfect day with recommendations of attraction times and more! It’ll even send you reminders throughout the day, so you don’t miss out on any of the fun!
If you have other questions about the Disneyland Resort, remember - you’ve got a friend in me!
