My reservation for 11 will be at 6:00 at Yak & Yeti in February and the park closes at 6:00. Do I need to say anything to the staff that we need to use the bus to get back to our resort. We really dont want to use other transportation

    Nancy,

Thanks for asking your question to planDisney!

While I would not cancel my dining plans at Yak and Yeti Restaurant, there are a few steps I would recommend you take to ensure you don't have any problems, and so you can enjoy your meal and time together without being rushed.

    • Consider an earlier reservation. If it works into your plans, see if there are any earlier reservation times still available.
    • Arrive early. Disney asks guests to arrive at their restaurant at least 15 minutes before their reservation time. If you can herd your party there even earlier, you might get seated earlier, which will give you more time to dine.
    • Check-in ahead of time. Use the Mobile Dine Check-In feature of the My Disney Experience App. This lets the restaurant staff know you are ready!
    • Talk to your server. Inform the server that you need to catch the Disney bus transportation home. Since your walk is about 1/3 of a mile from the restaurant to the buses (1/2 km), with an average walking time of about 15 minutes, you should let them know you need to be done by at least 6:40 pm.
    • Pay Early. I would not wait until it was time to leave to settle the bill. Ask your server to bring it by earlier in your meal, so that you have one less thing to delay your departure for the buses.
    BOTTOM LINE
If getting an earlier reservation time either does not work with your plans, or is not available, my primary recommendation is to arrive as much as 30 minutes early, with the whole party there or nearby, and discuss with the front desk staff that you need to be able to leave in time to catch the bus. While this whole discussion may seem concerning, remember that these Cast Members have dealt with this many times in the past, and they know all the steps needed to help you get to your transportation on time without rushing your meal and ruining what is sure to be a great dining experience.

    BONUS TIP
Three words. Dragon Roll Bowl. Trust me.
